1972 L Morris Mini Clubman 1275 GT In Mulberry red with a silver roof and side stripes. The interior is classic 1275 GT with its Basket Weave seats, grey carpets, 3 clocks and distinctive GT leather covered steering wheel, all in show condition. The condition of this mini is totally unique and outstanding. The quality of the shell, paint and every detail is credit to its builder and is a result of a 1000 hour build. The key to this mini is that after around 15 years it was rebuilt using a brand new Leyland body shell and then properly painted and protected. The car was when bought by its last owner and fully stripped in 2007. The shell was acid dipped as you can see in the pictures and the shell was found to be in excellent condition. The shell was then professionally primed and painted and then slowly reassembled with great care being taken with every stage. All the parts where either renewed or prepared and painted, and due to the quality of workmanship the car looks like it was finished yesterday. The engine was fully rebuilt and increased to 1380 cc with a gas flowed polished cylinder head, Omega pistons and an Swiftune SW 5 camshalf. The gearbox was rebuilt with a 4 pin diff and a longer final drive fitted for more refined cruising which makes it far better on longer journeys than a standard GT. All areas like the brakes, sub-frames and suspension are also fully rebuilt and still look immaculate today. I cant stress enough the quality of the final result. When sitting in the car it is comfortable, clean and exciting. Pulling away and accelerating through the gears is very engaging and brings back the real fun of driving which is lacking in most modern cars. It feels very special to drive and attracts a lot of attention where ever it goes with anyone who sees it commenting on the colour and the remarkable finish and shine. I have a USB stick showing the car in its various stages of build and also from the Mini World photo-shoot from 2012, when it was a feature car. The 1275 GT is a very rare site on today’s roads and this must be one of the finest examples in existence. Its new owner will be blown away with the car and the more they look at it the more pleased and amazed they will be! Free delivery to your door in my enclosed van within 200 miles of Tiverton.
