1987 Austin Mini 998 cc in classic black with chrome detailing. This is a unique classic mini created in 2003 by a retired enthusiast. He bought a Mini Advantage as a donor car and ordered a new Heritage body shell from Somerford Minis to guarantee a rust free body and they painted it in black. They protected the underside with hammer effect stone chip and cavity injected it with wax oil. As a result 22 years later the paint is still the same and the condition is lovely. He fitted a reconditioned engine and gearbox as well as a new rear subframe, brakes and suspension. Everything was carefully put together and you can tell he had plenty of time on his hands! The attention to detail is a credit to him. The wiring is all upgraded with sealed connectors so to avoid the poor connection issues that can occur with spade and bullet connections. As a result the whole car feels very well build and it drives wonderfully. It has over covered 8800 dry miles in the last 23 years and has always lived a garaged life. To create this car today would cost around £25000 – £30,000 as a painted Heritage shell is around £15000!
