1981 W Austin Mini Pick Up in red. My first car was a mini pick-up so I do have a soft spot for them! Unfortunately I rarely buy them as most have past their best and they are expensive to restore. This one is a great example after being restored around 8 years ago. The quality of restoration is to a high level. There are no nasty patches and the new panels have been fitted properly with good panel gaps and spot welds. The subframes are clean and wax oiled and the sills are correct and show no signs of any corrosion. It has grey leather seats which are very supportive and black carpets. The engine bay is wonderfully tidy which reflects the care and experience that has gone into restoring and modernising this Mini Pick up. The load bay area is original and is in great condition. When driving the car it feels well engineered and very responsive due to a 1275 cc engine and running gear. It has Cooper S disc brakes and a servo which perform brilliantly. Due to having more modern running gear the ability to keep up with modern traffic is greatly improved and the gearing enables you to keep up at a sensible RPM. It sits on Cooper S wheels with matching tyres. The previous mini enthusiast owner has taken it on a few 200 mile road trips and even cared his Vespa in the back!! This is a very pleasing mini and one that can be used and enjoyed. A very rare sight on UK roads and you can guarantee it will make everyone who sees it smile!
