1968 Austin Mini MK 2 1300 Fast Road in Tartan Red with a black roof. This outstanding mini looks identical to a 1275 Cooper S. It has a wonderful engine built by Phil Hepworth (Howley Racing) which has been fully balanced. It has a MED lightened flywheel, Omega pistons and an SW5 camshaft. The brakes are all brand new S spec with a servo and are very effective. Period Minilite wheels on Dunlop Sp Sport R7 tyres. The suspension is dry and is fully adjustable and the car rides very well. It has been built to a very high standard by an experienced engineer who has been working on minis for many years and has built award winning minis at a National level. The pictures speak for them selves and on the road it is a joy to drive. It is very well mannered and will happily potter around at low speeds. Equally it picks up and revs very freely giving good strong acceleration when required. The interior is immaculate and has genuine reclining seats and a period steering wheel. I feel very lucky to have found such a special car which has been created over the last 8 years by a true professional who by day is an aerospace engineer. I have a nice history file for the original mini which is also included which shows a mileage of 87500. This is a very rare and special car which will make its new owner the star of any mini show!
