1990 Rover Mini Cooper RSP in British Racing Green and white. The Mini Cooper RSP (Rover Special Product) is responsible for keeping the classic minis in production for another 10 years until they stopped making them in the year 2000. They had not made a mini Cooper since the early 70’s and it was John Coopers idea to put a Mini Metro 1275 cc engine into a standard 998 cc Mini so to create a Cooper. It was so well received that they made 1050 examples which all sold very quickly. The RSP minis have a very strong following and are a collectable mini to own. It still uses a  carburettor which buyers like as it can be easily tuned and worked on. This example is in excellent, factory original condition and to my eye has all of its factory paint. It is totally unmodified inside and out and is a ‘time warp’ example. They sprayed the RSP’s with yellow wax in the factory and all of the factory wax is still there and has preserved the car wonderfully. After 30 years there is no corrosion and it still has its new smell inside. It has only covered 17500 miles from new and I have the original book pack, service records, past MOT’s and both sets of keys. I have just had the mini serviced which has included 4 new Yokohama 165 wide tyres which always improves the cornering feel. This is a rare and special mini in excellent original condition.
