1972 Austin Mini 1275 GT in factory Teal blue with stunning Lime flower original trim. This a lovely early 1275 GT which also has the advantage of having a tuned cylinder head, twin 1.5 SU carburettors and an oil cooler making it the same as the Special Tuning cars. It could well be an original Special Tuning conversion as it has the small S on the back and it all looks very period. The ST converted 1275 GT’s had 75 BHP and this has been on the rolling road and produces 77 BHP. It has fantastic servo assisted brakes which are more effective than some of the later cars. On the road is a delight to drive. It is smooth and refined and feels tight and very well maintained. It pulls strongly through the gears and has a rewarding gear change. The leather bound GT steering wheel and the period interior makes it a special place to be. The period sunroof with hinge round sun visor is great and very 70’s! The suspension is adjustable in height and it rides well with no bangs or rattles. I have a great history file including a copy of every V5 from new including the original buff log book which supports the original colour of blue. Between 2000 and 2002 the mini was totally rebuilt and a replacement body was used. All of the original 1275 Gt parts where then carefully checked and replaced where needed. The original engine was rebuilt and since then it has done around 11500 miles. The quality of the build was clearly completed to a high standard as 18 years on it still looks wonderful and is a fantastic example.
