1971 Austin Mini 1275. This very special and unique Mini was restored in 1995 using a new Rover body shell which included doors, bonnet and boot. You can still buy new Heritage body shells today at the cost of £11500 in primer ready to be painted. It had a new Lamm body kit, full length electric sunroof, electric windows, air conditioning and keyless entry with central locking. New 13 inch Superlite alloy wheels and a fantastic paint job costing £2000 in 1995! The engine came out of a Metro GTA which had covered just 6000 miles. The interior was made from Escort RS Turbo Recaro front seats with rear seat and door cards to match. It has a nice stereo system with 4 speakers. The walnut door capping’s and dash finish off the high quality interior. It has Metro turbo vented brake discs with 4 pot callipers and alloy Minifins at the rear. The suspension has Spax adjustable dampers and Hi Low’s. The stainless steel exhaust finished off the build. The mini has covered just 6670 miles since 1995 and has always been garaged. The person that created it in 1995 sold the car and then bought it back in 2016 and has owner it for the last 8 years. I am told  that the paint work is all 28 years old, showing the quality of the job at the time. The new body shell was fully waxoil protected when it was built and being a new body is part of the reason it has not needed any paintwork in the last 28 years. It drives very well and feels very special to be in. The doors have soft touch buttons to open them and no door handle in sight. The remote central locking disables them which all works very well. To recreate a mini to this level today would cost more than twice the asking price. This is a ‘one off’ Mini which would be a real ‘show stopper’ and is ready for the summer shows.
