1999 Rover Mini Cooper 40 th Edition. The is 1 of 250 Mini 40th Anniversary cars made and 1 of just 50 made in Island Blue. Island Blue is a 60’s colour and was one of the great Mini Cooper colours. It has navy blue full leather seats along with a leather top dash and door pockets. This model also had the Rover CD player as standard. The Mini 40 was one of the most expensive Minis ever made and is now very collectable. This example has been owned from new by its fanatical owner. It has never had any paintwork in 22 years and is outstanding and immaculate. The underside of the car is also immaculate and totally factory original. It has attended many shows and has won ‘best in class’ at London to Brighton 3 times, Brookland Mini Day, the IMM show and Himley Hall show as well as some second place awards. It has covered just 8150 miles from new and is outstanding. The only non standard item is central locking and electric windows which is a handy convenience. When you lock it with the windows down they automatically close! After the pictures were taken it has had 4 new Yokohama A539 tyres as the original tyres were 22 years old. This limited edition mini also came with a special silver case which is with the car and photographed in the advert. The mini drives wonderfully and it is clear to see the love and care that it has received over the last 22 years by its ‘one owner’. Finding an example this clean and nice would be very challenging which makes this one very collectable and investable. I have a photo album of the cars history and pictures of the show awards as well as some past magazines and brochures on the Mini 40.
