1972 Morris Mini 1275 cc. I bought this mini from a very experienced motor engineer who is also a auto electrician with over 50 years of experience working on classic cars and minis. He used to be based near Goodwood and was kept busy looking after the historic cars there, making new custom wiring looms. His wife had always driven minis and this mini was built for her in 2015. It has been restored using a newer 1990’s body shell and a 1275 cc 1990’s mini engine. The main requirement was to make it so that his wife would enjoy driving it. As part of this spec it has electric power steering which works very well. It still gives feel and feedback and is not over assisted, but makes parking and general steering so much easier and like a modern car. It cost £1698.00 for the kit plus fitting! The power steering is switchable for the best of both worlds. It also has an electric sunroof and electric windows which all works very well. The suspension is smooth and comfortable as it has been upgraded to the Moulton Smootha-Ride kit. The interior has 2 recently fitted bucket seats which are supportive and also give good access to the rear seat. The mini drives very well and is great fun in the sunshine with the roof back. It is nice to be able to lower the passenger window from the drivers side! It has Superlite alloy wheels and I have just fitted two new front tyres. The brakes are servo assisted discs at the front and drums at the rear. It also has adjustable rear radius arms so that the wheel alignment can be set up properly. The Teal blue period colour looks great and the car presents very well with no corrosion due to a good later body shell being used. The speedo shows just over 70,000 miles but there this is not guaranteed and not the mileage of the body or engine which is unknown. This would be a costly car to restore and build to this level with its unique spec. It is nice that it is tax and mot exempt due to being an historic vehicle. Free delivery to your door in my curtain sided van within 200 miles of Tiverton.
