1996 Rover Mini Cooper 1.3 Si in red with white roof, bonnet stripes and mirrors. This mini was supplied new by John Cooper Garages with a very high specification making it very rare and collectable. This included the S conversion bringing the power up to 85 BHP plus the handling pack with 165 width tyres and Koni shock absorbers for additional stability and road holding. Externally it was finished off with red Cooper badges on the wheels plus a discrete Si badge on the boot lid. As part of the conversion it had a Janspeed twin upswept exhaust system which has recently been replaced with the correct Janspeed period part due to a recent limited production run. Internally it has John Cooper Walnut and alloy door furniture, signed volts, clock and oil pressure gauges and a signed John Cooper / Motalita steering wheel. The works gear knob, alloy John Cooper door step plates and numbered conversion plaque finish off the interior detail. It also has a very rare twin petrol tank conversion by John Cooper Garages giving a 60’s Cooper S feel and making it ideal for longer trips. This mini has been serviced by John Cooper Garages 12 times and after the garage closed by John Coopers ex chief mechanic who has known the car from new. I have the conversion certificate signed by John Cooper and a photograph of the car being handed over to the first owner by John Cooper outside his garage. The history file is remarkable with every bill and past MOT from new inc the original bill of sale. It has covered just 30550 miles in the last 28 years. The original number plate as supplied when new was N111MMO which the first keeper wanted to keep so it now has N111OVW. John Cooper was famous for his quirky number plates. It has always been garaged from day one until now, when not in use.
