** NOW SOLD ** 1975 Austin Mini Clubman 1275 GT Special Tuning. This outstanding mini was bought new in 1975 by its first owner for £1537.25, original bill of sale is included. In 1977 he fancied more power so bought a Leyland Special Tuning Conversion kit for £173.92 for which I have the receipt. The Leyland Special Tuning department were responsible for making the factory Works Cooper S cars which have been very successful in World rallying. They offered these kits at great expense to the public which included twin SU carburettors, a modified cylinder head and special exhaust manifold and exhaust. This mini has had just 4 owners in the last 43 years and it has been owned by mini purist's from new. Two of its owners have been associated with the Mini Cooper Register and the last was an ex employee at Leyland Special Tuning! The mini has been fully restored and the engine / gearbox has been rebuilt by well re known Southam Mini & Metro Centre which also included converting the cylinder head to run on unleaded petrol The rear subframe, brakes and exhaust are all rebuilt or new. The front brakes have the larger factory fitted 8.4 inch discs which are servo assisted so are very strong and effective. It sits on genuine Minilite alloy wheels on Yokohama A539 tyres. Driving this mini is exhilarating and keeps you alert as it accelerates rapidly through the gears and is fantastic fun on a twisty A road. The interior remarkably is all original and in great condition. Even the carpets are original and are covered by over mats to keep them preserved. The iconic GT leather covered steering wheel looks great with the basket weave seats and 3 clocks which made the GT special. This is an unrepeatable opportunity to buy a piece of Mini history in remarkable condition with a special history file and just 4 owners from new. This will give its new owner something special to own and enjoy while also giving an exiting long term investment. Free delivery to your door in my enclosed van within 200 miles of Tiverton.
