1987 Austin Mini Advantage in factory original condition and on just 6300 miles from new. The Mini Advantage was first launched in France in May 1987 to coincide with the French Open tennis championship and then in the UK in June so it was available during The Championships at Wimbledon. The Advantage was based on the Mini City and painted diamond white with grey bumpers and door handles; black door mirrors; white wheel covers for the 12-inch steel wheels; Nimbus grey plastic wheel arch extensions and sill finishers. The decals and badges are on a tennis net theme on the lower body sides with 'Advantage' script logo and the Advantage logo on upper right of the boot lid. The interior is finished in flint grey and jade green 'tennis net' cloth on the seats and door panels. Other equipment fitted to this limited edition Mini includes a Tachometer, radio-cassette, tinted glass and opening rear windows with chrome surround. 2,500 cars were produced for the UK market. The car was purchased by its first owner from E.S Jones Dobshill Austin Mini Garage and was used sparingly for the first 2 years. The car was then placed into dry storage until 2014 when it was purchased by its 2nd owner. The car received new tyres and a brake service and was used sparingly and kept garaged and only used in fine weather. On the passing of the 2nd owner the car was then registered to the owner's family member who did not use the car. It was then sold to a gentleman for his wife to enjoy so has had 4 owners in total. The condition throughout reflects the sheltered life this mini has had and to my eye it has never had any paint after 33 years! It drives very well and is very bright and clean. It looks like it was waxoiled from new as the underside condition is excellent and the wax looks very old. This time warp example must be one the best remaining Mini Advantages.
