1985 Austin Mini 1380cc Fast Road car in classic Smoke Grey with an Old English White roof. This fantastic mini has been created with a great amount of care and research so to create a useable well mannered fast road mini. The engine was supplied by MED and built by Rob Walker and produces 107 BHP. It is a competition road engine with a big valve cylinder head, high lift rockers, HIF 44 carb, Aldon electronic ignition, duplex timing gear and Omega pistons. It has a 3 branch exhaust manifold connected to a single box Maniflow exhaust system which sounds fantastic while not being noisy. The key to the car is that it can be driven around town like a 998 cc mini and is very happy in traffic, but when the road allows it pulls strongly through the gears and is fantastic fun! It has a 3.44 final drive so is very comfortable at 70 MPH and is refined and nice. To me it is the ultimate period fast road mini and if you love driving you will love this mini. It corners well also due to the wider GB alloys on Falkon 165 tyres, while also having 1.5 degree negative camber front and back. The suspension is adjustable in height and also firmness thanks to Hi Lows and Spax shocks. It also stops well with KAD 4 pot alloy callipers on grooved discs and alloy rear Minifins. The body condition is very original and in great shape. It has its original floors and sills and under the carpets the floors are clean and sound. The history file shows that it has done 30100 miles in the last 34 years and by the condition of the body it would look to be right. I have a thick history file as well as both sets of keys. It has also been featured in Mini Magazine with a 5 page feature which is included. The first person to get behind the wheel of this mini and drive it will be the new owner it is great fun and a lovely car.
